So you and your partner are not as serious as most other couples and you want your wedding cake to express this, something a little more on the fun side would be your wedding cake style. Well great because we are going to talk about some great tips and ideas for wedding cakes of comical proportions. To start humor cakes can be done in many different ways you can have a subtle joke by just having a funny wedding topper or you could really go for a big laugh and make your whole cake a joke. One funny idea that we saw was a cake that was circular in shape and blue on top to make it look like a pond, they then had a couple dugs dressed up as the bride and groom, this was really quite the cake and for sure got some big laughs out of all the guests.
But by far the easiest and most popular way to get a humorous wedding cake is by just buying a funny cake topper, these comical cake toppers can be bought just about any where cake toppers are available. Some of these cake toppers include scenes of the bride dragging the groom or the groom stepping on the brides dress and tripping her or one of the funnier ones the groom with a metal ball around his ankle and the groom standing there with the keys smirking. Some other humorous cake toppers that are not as easily available include bobble heads that look just like the bride and groom, these ones can be custom made and are usually quite expensive but they will make a very memorable collectible for you and they will definitely get some laughs.
If you are going to go for a humor cake make sure that it just fits your style and sense of humor and it is related to you, if it is not in your style then many people will be thinking where did they come up with that or so and so would never think of that, so if you are not a real funny person than it is probably not best to do a humor cake because people will know you didn’t think of that, you want your cake to be original it is for you not for every one else don’t try and make a funny cake because you think every one else will enjoy it make a humor cake because you think it is funny and you will enjoy it, the wedding is about you not any one else so make it about you. But don’t be afraid to take tips that would be funny for your cake from your cake designer or friends just make sure you think they are funny, if you don’t think they are funny then there is really no point to the humor cake.
